The surrounding idyllic gardens brim with a colorful array of flowers, creating a romantic setting for the many weddings that take place at the hotel.

Rooms/Suites

The rooms and suites vary in size and theme and are individually designed incorporating original artwork, local antiques, handcrafted furniture and all with wood burning fireplaces – ideal for year-round comfort and charm. Rooms offer queen beds, king beds, hide-a-beds, and beds in lofts for adventurous people, plus a variety of tubs and bathing styles including, large soakers, hot tubs, Jacuzzi-style tubs, and steam showers – some are in-room, others on balconies and patios. Guests are welcomed to their rooms with a decanter of Blackberry Port and homemade cookies.

Dining & Lounges

In 2014, Sooke Harbour House Resort Hotel received a Lifetime Achievement Award, marking the 21st consecutive year that it had received top awards from Vancouver Magazine as Best Vancouver Island Restaurant. The award-winning restaurant focuses on local, natural, and sustainable food processes, particularly wild foods supplied by local farms, fishers, artisans and foragers. The gastronomical menu is changed daily, and the four-course format allows diners to experience more than the usual ‘appetizer, main and dessert’ format. Creativity has always been a tenet of this kitchen – experimentation and learning, interesting ingredients and preparations. The hotel's organic grounds and gardens include more than 200 herbs, greens, edible flowers and vegetables grown naturally, organically and seasonally. By showcasing the foods of Vancouver Island at the height of freshness and flavor, paired with the best of regional wines, the restaurant is creating an emerging Vancouver Island cuisine. The chefs believe – what grows together, goes together!

This summer, a new restaurant and bar called the Copper Room is opening in a space now known as the Garden Room, and will offer lighter fare than the existing dining room, at a lower price point. The 40-seat restaurant will include craft beer on tap and will work with local brewers to offer special dinners.

Wellness & Relaxation

Currently spa services are conducted in the privacy of the guest rooms. A new 3,000-square-foot ocean side spa will be opening in the fall of 2016 including a sauna, thermal pools and treatment rooms. Eighteen different spa packages offer a variety of herbal or thalassotherapy treatments: esthetic (facials, manicures, pedicures); massage (Swedish, deep tissue, hot rock, aromatherapy; body treatments (wraps, sea salt scrubs). As well, a new Ocean Club is to be established to offer 100 members their own club room, discounts and room upgrades, and a variety of outdoor activities

Meetings/Conferences/Weddings

The hotel offers a variety of spaces to suit any type of meeting or event. The Potlatch Room, popular for corporate retreats and meetings, features a beach stone fireplace, cedar walls, Douglas fir details, hardwood floors, and First Nations art. Plated dinner service is available for up to 60 people. Bar service and stand-up hors d’oeuvres receptions are available for up to 80 guests. A number of breakout rooms are also available. A new 1500 sq ft permanent art gallery, soon to be completed, will be suitable for larger meetings and events.

Combining an internationally renowned hotel and restaurant with a stunning location, no wonder Sooke Harbour House is a popular wedding/honeymoon venue. Wedding packages range from a Bachelorette Getaway, to an intimate Elopement Package to booking the entire hotel for an Inn Wedding. The hotel offers catering, flowers and planning/consultation services.

The Gallery

The art of more than 150 local artists and crafts people is displayed throughout the hotel's hallways, outside paths and gardens, and pathways along the beach. Artists’ works are also highlighted in every suite, and change as works are circulated and sold. Local artwork, including First Nations art, is an intrinsic part of Sooke Harbour House – the whole place is a gallery. A new 1,500-square-foot permanent art gallery is planned, which will exhibit most of the art and be used for special events as well
