This idyllic, 5-star Relais & Chateaux hotel nestles along the Cote d'Azur at the foot of Saint Paul de Vence, one of the oldest walled, medieval towns on the French Riviera, famous for its modern and contemporary art museums and galleries, such as the Foundation Maeght. Le Mas de Pierre, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, comprises a large villa and seven romantic, Provence-style country houses set on 7.5 acres of Mediterranean gardens laid out with century-old olive trees, fragrant Provencal plants, citrus trees, an orchid greenhouse, aviary and unique artworks. Ideally located close to Nice, Cannes, Monaco, the beach and waterfront, Le Mas de Pierre offers charm, hospitality, close attention to detail and exemplary personal service, in the spirit of large family homes.

The 54 tastefully decorated rooms and suites spread over the seven country houses, plus the villa, are ideal for leisure stays as a couple, a family or with friends, and for business trips. The hotel offers a dining room, a bar, spa, fitness centre, heated outdoor swimming pools, meeting rooms and boardroom, and a range of activities.

 

Rooms/Suites/Villa

The 48 rooms range in size from 215 to 646 sq ft, each with a private garden or terrace. The new Le Bastide des Fleur contains six new suites on two floors (2 Prestige suites; 4 Junior Prestige suites,) including three garden suites and three with terrace, plus a heated pool, cabanas and sundeck. All rooms and suites offer free wifi, air-conditioning, mini-bar, flat-screen TV, safe, bathrobes & slippers, bathroom amenities, hairdryer, 24/7 room service, coffee/tea facilities in suites.

 

The Villa

The 4500 sq ft private Villa will accommodate 6 – 8 guests and comprises a study, kitchen, dining-room, lounge, 3 bedrooms with bathrooms and walk-in closets, private garage, swimming pool, BBQ and 1.5 acre garden. and although separate, has direct access to the hotel and its full range of amenities. Cost starts at 12,000 €/week in shoulder season.

 

 

Dining & Lounges

The restaurant La Table de Pierre, featuring Mediterranean gourmet cuisine with the flavours of the South, is composed of the finest regional specialties prepared with fresh local ingredients by Chef Emmanuel Lehrer. The restaurant offers dining on the terrace or indoors by the stone fireplace. Service can be organized on the terrace under the plane trees (60 people) or on the summer terrace by the pool (40 people). A seasonal buffet brunch is served every Sunday and a BBQ can be organized in the garden. The bar La Princess invites guests to enjoy a drink by the fireplace or on the terrace at any time. Facilities & Services

The Spa includes two treatment rooms, each with private terrace, plus sauna, hammam, Jacuzzi, and beauty salon. Treatments include a range of massages, hydration/moisturizing, and skin care treatments. A first-class fitness centre with private coach upon request is available, as well as heated outdoor swimming pool complete with background music, surrounded by sun beds in elegant, curtained-off private spaces.

 

 

Activities & Nearby Activities

The hotel's concierge team is entirely at the disposal of guests to organize activities. Onsite activities include guided visits of the hotel gardens with the gardener, a game of petanque (boules) accompanied by a local aperitif, wine or olive oil tastings. Nearby activities include golf (7 different courses), tennis, horseback riding, hiking, biking, canoeing, rafting, scooters, paddleboats, scuba diving. The Maeght Foundation: this private foundation owns one of the most prestigious collections of 20th century art in Europe. The most famous works belong to Bonnard, Braque, Calder, Chagall, Giacometti, Léger, Miró.
The Rosaire chapel: conceived by Henri Matisse, this chapel remains a sacred art monument, unique in the world. It was the first time that a painter entirely designed every detail of a monument, from the architecture to the furniture. Nice
The Matisse Museum: situated on the hill of Cimiez, not far from the Franciscan monastery with its Italianate gardens, the Hotel Regina where Matisse lived, and the Gallo-Roman ruins
Marc Chagall Museum: famous for Chagall's works inspired by Jewish folklore, and his interpretations of the Bible presented on vast canvasses, blending candid forms with poetry of colours
The Palais Masséna: overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, the architecture of le Belle Époque, built between 1898 and 1901, illustrates the story of Nice
Le Park Phoenix: occupies seven hectares, showcasing 2500 varieties of Mediterranean plants and a tropical greenhouse, one of the largest in Europe
