Meet the new GM Rooms/Suites
Old enough to have gained valuable experience, but young enough to be full of energy and fresh ideas, Jesse Hamilton previously was GM of a 700-acre, 150-room, all-inclusive resort property that included two golf courses, water-ski school and three restaurants. Phew! His resume also includes six years as Professor of Hospitality at Georgia College in Ontario; GM of a boutique country inn; and senior management at a ski resort in Ontario. On a more personal level, Hamilton has a six year old daughter who will be calling the island home many months a year – making him sensitive to the needs of families.
Constant improvements Rooms/Suites
- "We have introduced a new all-day, light-fare restaurant menu to our all inclusive offerings, in addition to the breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus which are designed daily, explains Hamilton. This new service will provide guests with greater choice and more flexibility for both lunch and dinner in the restaurant, and will complement the existing bar and food service at the beach and pool.
- The hotel management is also introducing an open air massage space and an open air gym, as well as a number of daily special events as part of its all-inclusive package, including cooking demonstrations, guided walks or kayaking, cocktail classes, rum tastings, and local shopping trips.
- In addition, they are creating an “Exclusive to East Winds” day trip schedule where the hotel hand picks a number of excursions and operators to offer "exclusive" tours for their guests. To deliver this new service, the hotel will create a new concierge desk on its beach.
- And to top it all off, the hotel will offer a convenient Pre-Arrival Check list - providing guests with an email prior to arrival to allow them to choose such things as extra pillows, the contents of the mini-bar, etc.

All Inclusive Dining Options
The hotel's gourmet restaurant the Flamboyant Room offers a 4-course table d'hote menu or weekly BBQ plus a choice of carefully selected wines from several different countries. Breakfast is served buffet style with both a plated and buffet option available at lunch; afternoon tea is served poolside in the Jasmine Tea Room. Guests have a choice of 4 different bars/lounges, including a self-service swim-up bar. All inclusive beverages include those in the restaurant and bar – mineral waters (Perrier, San Pelegrino), premium wines, international branded spirits, Diet Coke & Sprite, Champagne in the evening; plus a weekly Manager's Champagne cocktail party.
Wellness Retreat
The hotel offers free early morning yoga & Pilates classes in specially designed open-air Yoga Pavilion; an outdoor gym/fitness facility (a one km fitness trail with 20 different fitness stations); healthy homemade smoothies, blood boosters, fat burners, energy boosters and more; choice of 21 different vegetarian dishes per week for the evening table d'hotes; gluten-free dishes upon request, including gluten-free bread.
Wedding & Conference Facilities
The hotel offers special wedding packages for $800 that include all the necessities (fees, licence, decorated venue, bouquet & boutonniere, cake) plus a Champagne dinner. Options include a steel band, extra champagne and a photographer.
Botanical Garden
The hotel’s beautiful gardens, set in 12 tropical acres with more than 100 different species of plant life and some 34 species of birds. Guests can use the illustrated guide in their room to explore the garden or ask the head gardener to introduce the local flora and fauna.
Amenities & Activities
Hotel amenities include a swimming pool, gift shop, in-room spa treatments, shuffleboard, table tennis and all manner of water sports including, dive packages (available for PADI qualified divers), complimentary use of pedalos, kayaks, aqua-view boards, snorkeling equipment and Hobbiecats -- free lessons available. Wildlife viewing includes turtle watching (Apr – Sept) and bird watching. A steel band plays Saturdays during gourmet lunch buffet, and local musicians perform regularly, including playing on the hotel's venerable Steinway piano.
