Manoir Hovey will host a Relais & Châteaux 60th Anniversary Dinner on Oct 16 and 17, featuring some of Canada's and Argentina's top culinary talent -- Le Hatley Restaurant's Chefs Roland Menard and Francois Wolf, and guest Chef Mariano Gallego from Relais & Châteaux Cavas Wine Lodge and Brindillas Restaurant in Mendoza, Argentina. The event will include a cocktail reception pairing Argentinian wine and hors-d'oeuvres, a tasting menu and signature dishes by all three chefs.
The Post Hotel & Spa is offering a traditional 4-course Thanksgiving Dinner as an option for guests on Sunday, Oct 12, featuring wild salmon tartar; chanterelle crepes; roasted, stuffed turkey with mashed sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts and cranberry sauce; topped off with layered pear-chocolate- pumpkin mousse.
Clayoquot Wilderness Resort, which is now closed for the season, reports a wildly successful season for 2014, and offers a heads-up for next season's bookings from May 21 – Oct 1, 2015.
East Winds Inn will become more accessible to North American travelers later this year. Two new flights will facilitate travel for East Wind's North American guests. Starting Nov 1, 2014, JetBlue will offer new non-stop, Saturday weekly service for the winter season to St. Lucia's Hewanorra International Airport from Boston Logan International Airport. In addition, Delta Airlines will offer non-stop weekly Saturday service to Hewanorra from JFK International Airport, starting Dec 20, 2014.
Kudos to Borgo Santo Pietro, which was awarded two Andrew Harper Readers' Choice Awards and selected one of the best cookery schools in the world by Sheerluxe Magazine. The hotel was voted #15 among the World's 20 Top Food & Wine Resorts; #4 among the World's Top International Hideaways; and #3 among the World's Best Cookery Schools.
The Yeatman (www.the-yeatman-hotel.com), a luxury wine hotel overlooking the historic district of Porto, Portugal, is among Fodor's 100 Hotel Award Winners for 2014, in the Modern City category – the only Portuguese hotel to make the list. The hotel also received a Reader's Choice award..
