With the holiday season on the horizon, we would like to offer last-minute suggestions for holiday getaways and New Year celebrations. For those with longer horizons, who are starting to plan ahead for spring travel, we can offer a variety of suggestions from Tuscan countryside villas to luxury tent encampments on Canada’s wild West Coast. The Post Hotel, Lake Louise, features a winter wonderland setting for the holidays – and still has space available for Christmas and New Years – minimum stays apply.
Hotel Orfila in Madrid, was chosen among the Top 25 Luxury Hotels in Spain by Trip Advisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards for 2013, and in 2012 was named to Conde Nast Traveler’s Gold list.
Hotel Le Pigonnet, Aix-en-Provence, is offering special travel agent rates and commissions. Located about one hour north east of Barcelona on the Costa Brava, this restored 18th century farm house, although closed for the winter season, re-opens Mar 6, 2014, and will offer The Best of Sundays – late check-out on Sundays will allow guests to enjoy a leisurely lunch or spa treatment, to make full use of their last day. The hotel also features 2-night packages for two in a suite. CLAYOQUOT WILDERNESS RESORTS & SPA –Virtuoso (www.wildretreat.com)  This safari-style luxury tent camp and adventure resort specializes in custom-designed remote experiences, including wildlife viewing (whales, bears), horseback riding, kayaking, hiking, biking, fishing, climbing, zip-lining, shooting, First Nations guided tours, and more. The resort strives for sustainability – among its endeavors is working closely with Tofino Hatchery to ensure increasing stocks of wild salmon through harvesting eggs and releasing fry. Although the resort is closed for the winter, it is now booking 3, 4 and 7 night all-inclusive adventures for the 2014 season from May 18 to Sept 28. The months of May and September are perfect for couples, while the summer months might better suit high-energy family gatherings.
