Salvador Dali: One of most famous artists of the 20th century, Salvador Dalí changed the world with his fabulous surrealist imagery and flamboyant personality. The Dali Triangle, a term used to describe the location of the three Dali museums in Catalonia, offers a great day trip from Lloret de Mar – the furthest point on the Triangle is the Salvador Dali House-Museum in Cadaques, about 1.5 hour's drive away. The crooked house that Dali built here was his only permanent home for most of his life from 1930-1982. The Dali Museum in Figueres is the largest surrealist work of art in the world and the largest and most diverse collection of works by Salvador Dalí. The Gala Dali Castle House-Museum, just half-an-hour's drive away, is a castle ruin Dali restored in his flamboyant and original style as a small but palatial residence for the love of his life Gala, even installing a throne room.
